Local people are invited to remember their loved ones at the Willen Hospice Twilight Walk & Display event on Sunday 18th September and Tuesday 20th September* (display only).
Registration is free with the option to purchase lanterns for £10 each.
All money raised supports the specialist end-of-life care provided by Willen Hospice at its lakeside Hospice, and in the community.
The event starts at 6.30 pm in the Willen Hospice gardens, which will be lit up in a stunning display of memorial lanterns.
Guests are encouraged to purchase a lantern to decorate at home in memory of a loved one and bring it with them to add to the display.
Sunday’s event includes a peaceful walk as the sun sets over the lake, reflective music and readings.
Tuesday is the display only, and guests are welcome to attend any time between 6.30 – 8.30 pm.
In respect of the State Funeral for Her Majesty The Queen on Monday 19th September, the second day of the Twilight Walk & Display event (display only) has been moved to Tuesday 20th September. Sunday’s event (18th September) will remain.
Katrina Walsh, Events Fundraiser at Willen Hospice, said “Our Twilight Walk is a special way to remember and celebrate the lives of our loved ones, whether they were cared for at Willen Hospice or elsewhere. It’s also a chance for people who have experienced loss to come together at our lakeside setting, reflect and help support the work of Willen Hospice at the same time.”
