Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda have qualified P5 and P12 respectively for tomorrow's Monaco Grand Prix.
Verstappen and Tsunoda progressed into Q2 fairly comfortably, as developing track conditions saw drivers continue to improve their times. Verstappen put in a P4 performance while Tsunoda finished the first qualifying stage in P10.
There was a moment between Verstappen and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton, with the Dutchman appearing to be impeded whilst on a flying lap. The FIA stewards will investigate it later, with the potential for Hamilton to suffer a grid penalty.
Verstappen set the second-fastest time, 0.165 seconds behind McLaren's Lando Norris, before Q2 was red-flagged for Mercedes' George Russell's car failure. Tsunoda, meanwhile, continued to lag behind his teammate, and with just over three minutes left in Q2, he was just 0.003 seconds above the elimination zone.
Verstappen eventually went through in P4, 0.305 behind Norris, but Tsunoda couldn't overcome the improving cars around him. He was knocked out and will start tomorrow's race P12, behind both Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar in Red Bull's sister team, Racing Bulls.
The four-time World Champion's first flying lap in Q3 saw him P4. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc jumped up to P2, forcing Verstappen down to P5 - where he will start tomorrow's race.
