Red Bull Racing's best junior prospect is set to make an appearance during FP1 at this year's British Grand Prix.

Having recently been granted an FIA Superlicence despite being just 17 years old, Arvid Lindblad is being prepped by Red Bull for a potential seat across one of its two teams for the 2026 season.

Part of this preparation will see the British-born driver undertake a number of tests in Formula 1 machinery, which he recently did at the Imola circuit.

Driving Racing Bull's (then named AlphaTauri) 2023 car, the AT04, Lindblad spent a morning running a full program at the site of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

This Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) session will be followed up, it has been confirmed, with an appearance at the famous Silverstone circuit when he will take control of an F1 car during FP1 at the British Grand Prix.

Red Bull senior advisor, and the man in charge of the team's junior program, Helmut Marko confirmed this when talking to Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung.

He stated: “He'll also be in the car for Friday's practice at Silverstone."

He added: “He stands out for his mental strength and self-confidence; his Swedish-Indian mix is clearly very good for motorsport.”

Formula 1 teams are required to run rookie drivers in at least four FP1 sessions throughout a season. It's unclear at present whether or not Lindblad will do this behind the wheel of an RB21, or the sister team's VCARB02.

Lindblad has had a strong debut campaign in Formula 2 this year, picking Sprint and Feature Race victories en route to third in the Championship race thus far for Campos Racing.

Red Bull believe he could be the team's next big championship hope since Max Verstappen burst onto the scene ten years ago. As much preparation behind the wheel of an F1 car as possible will help set Lindblad up for a promotion, likely with Racing Bulls, for 2026.
