A casual LinkedIn post about a Milton Keynes pub’s creative offer to remote workers has gone viral.
Reaching more than 700,000 people around the world on professional networking site, LinkedIn, in just a few days.
The post, written by Nigel Baker, Chief Executive of Olney-based business, the Pet Industry Federation, followed a visit to The Bull in Olney.
The pub’s blackboard, advertising “Pub Desking: £20 for a two-course lunch, Wi-Fi and unlimited tea or coffee,” caught his eye as a clever idea for those looking for a change to working from home.
He shared a photo of the sign on LinkedIn, with a comment that he had ‘found his new office.”
By the end of the weekend the post had reached more than 700,000 impressions, 7,000 likes, 331 comments and 156 reposts, with engagement pouring in from across the UK and abroad.
“It clearly resonated with me and thousands of others around the globe,” Nigel said, “It’s a simple but brilliant idea that helps tackle loneliness, offers a cost-effective alternative to working from home, and supports local pubs at the same time.”
The Bull, part of the Wells & Co. group, has since seen a surge of interest in its initiative.
