Prog folk legends Gryphon in Milton Keynes

The legendary progressive folk-rock band Gryphon are playing at The Stables in Milton Keynes on 16 May as part of their Sonic Tonic Tour.

Always impossible to pigeonhole, Gryphon’s eponymously titled first album was released in 1973 to great acclaim and the band went on to enjoy success throughout the 1970s, touring extensively with Yes, Steeleye Span and Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Further success followed, with Midnight Mushrumps and Red Queen to Gryphon Three combining English folk, contemporary rock, medieval and renaissance music, until Gryphon disbanded following Treason in 1977.

Reformed four decades later, Gryphon stunned their multitude of followers in 2018 with their sixth studio album, ReInvention, released to such huge acclaim that a further brand new and innovative collection, Get Out Of My Father’s Car, followed in 2020.

A new live album, Gryphon Live – A Sonic Tonic, was released last year.

Tickets available from the Stables box office on 01908 280800 or at https://stables.org/event/gryphon
