PREVIEW: MK Dons Executive Director to discuss 2019/20 season curtail on MKFM today

Andrew Cullen, Executive Director, will be on the MK Dons Fans Forum this afternoon from 2pm.

He will be discussing yesterday's news that League One Clubs voted, by an overwhelming majority, to formally end the 2019/20 season.

Andrew Cullen has said it is "good news" that the club has "clarity" regarding the future of the season. He added: "The league table will be determined on a points per game basis, where the equation takes into account a number of games played against a number of points that [have] already been secured."

MK Dons will be finishing the campaign in 19th place, with an unweighted points per page total of 46.51, and will retain their place in the third tier for the 2020/21 season.

"In an ideal world, we wanted to have played on the season," Andrew continued. "We felt we were progressing very well on the pitch and we were looking upwards not downwards and [that] would've given us some good momentum to take into the 20/21 season."

Despite this, he said that continuing the season would have cost MK Dons several hundreds of thousands of pounds, with that number potentially being even higher for other clubs.

MK Dons Season Ticket holders have paid for 23 games in the season, and have missed four games, so MK Dons has outlined four available options. These are:

    1. Take a full refund
    2. Decline the refund due and donate the sum instead to the MK Dons Academy
    3. Choose to take the 2020/21 Black Shirt (worth £38) and donate any remaining balance to the MK Dons Academy
    4. Take 4 pairs of match tickets for League games for the 2020/21 season

In this afternoon's broadcast, Andrew Cullen will be speaking about these options in more detail.

Tune into the MK Dons Fans Forum with Andrew Cullen from 2pm today on MKFM. Listen on 106.3FM, DAB Digital Radio, online and on your mobile.
