The Newport Pagnell Soapbox Derby is set for a triumphant return in the summer.
The Derby originally launched in the 1960s and was a popular fixture for many years.
After a period of absence it was relaunched around 15 years ago, before Covid again called time on the fun.
The date for the diary is Sunday, July 12, when it will take over Silver Street. Organisers are now seeking teams, sponsors and stewards to make sure the event is a wheelie great day out.
"So many people used to turn out for it in those early days," recalled one Newport resident, "There would be 100s of people lining Silver Street to watch. It was great fun, and I'm so pleased that it is returning. It's events like this that give the town its character."
