Popular pop-up store full of independent retailers set to return to Milton Keynes shopping centre

Midsummer Place will welcome back The Indie Collective – a pop-up project that supports local independent retailers – from tomorrow (1/5).

A successful initiative that first launched at the centre in the lead up to Christmas 2020, The Indie Collective will return to the newly rebranded Midsummer Place shortly after the return of non-essential retail.

The Indie Collective pop-ups follow the centre’s successful Etsy Artisan Markets, which have previously been held on the Boulevard to deliver an alternative offering for visitors who like to shop local. These markets are expected to resume in the future, once social distancing and safety measures are relaxed.

Bringing together a hub of local independent brands to showcase their products and creations, customers can expect to find home and garden goods, handmade cards and prints, personalised goodies, sweet treats, gifts, and more.

Customers will recognise selected brands from before – such as Outhouse and Nettlefold – with many new arrivals, including Serene Candles, Silver by the Button, Mini Threads, Miller & Jeeves, to name just a few.

This time around there will also be pop-ups within pop-ups, starting this Saturday with Shannon Grace who will be making personalised bracelets on the day, followed by candles by Wendy Lavender on Sunday 16 May.

Trading on East Walk in a unit close to Victoria’s Secret and Dr Martens, visitors of the centre can shop at The Indie Collective on the following days and times:

    Monday: closed

    Tuesday: 9:30am to 5:30pm

    Wednesday: 9:30am to 5:30pm

    Thursday: 9:30am to 7pm

    Friday: 9:30am to 7pm

    Saturday: 9:30am to 6:30pm

    Sunday: 11am to 5pm

Shelley Peppard, General Manager at Midsummer Place, said: “We’re so excited to welcome the lovely ladies behind The Indie Collective and their brilliant concept back to our centre this May. The first pop-up saw huge success, and we have no doubt that their return will spark excitement across the town once again.”

The pop-up will be trading until mid-June, with the possibility of extending their stay.
