A popular pizzeria has announced it will not be returning to Midsummer Place as the shopping centre undergoes a huge makeover.
Made in Sud Pizzeria is a popular pizza van which serves authentic Neapolitan Pizzeria to customers in the city.
The pizza van has been in Midsummer Place shopping centre for a number of years and has today announced it will not be returning.
In a statement on social media, the pizzeria announced:
"It is with a heavy heart, we confirm that made in sud will no longer be returning to midsummer place shopping centre.
"After much negotiations with the shopping centre and evaluations of the changes that are happening, we believe that we are no longer in the best place that serves our products and creative offerings.
"We sincerely apologise to everyone that was anticipating our return. We hope we can bring you something exciting in the near future."
Residents have announced they are 'gutted' over the announcement. One responded: "Nooo! The best pizza I’ve ever had! Please set up somewhere else! I’m sure you’d have queues of people waiting!"
Others commented: "Nooooooooooo! Gutted" and "I really hope you will be back somewhere soon. Your pizza is the absolute best."
The news comes as the shopping centre undergoes a huge makeover which will see new eateries in a brand new 'piazza-style' setting.
Churros-Locos, Souv Lucky Day, Jerk n Rum and Lebanese Grill House are among the list of street-food eateries opening in the centre.
