Popular burger chain set to close 'half its restaurants' across the UK

According to national news provider Sky News, nearly half of Byron's restaurants are to close.

Sky News has reported that the popular burger chain is set to close ten of its 21 remaining sites permanently, as part of a pre-pack administration engineered by Calveton, its owner.

Calveton took over the chain in 2020, after it collapsed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sky News say a deal could be struck with administrators at Interpath Advisory as soon as this week, according to insiders.

Byron currently operate a store in the centre:mk, but it is not yet known if this has been included in the list of restaurants to be affected by the closures.

It has not been made clear how many jobs are at risk as a result of the closures.

Byron is unavailable to comment on the situation.
