Police to patrol areas surrounding Xscape in Milton Keynes following this weekend's stabbing

Police officers will be patrolling the areas surrounding Xscape following a stabbing that took place on Sunday evening (29/8).

The increased police presence is a result of an attack that happened at around 9:05pm, when a group of males were approached by two people that came from the direction of the car park.

Police say that one of the men in the group was assaulted by the offenders and sustained stab wounds to his arms.

Following the attack, the two offenders ran off in the direction of the McDonald's entrance and headed towards the bridge which leads to Fishermead.

The victim is currently in hospital and is in a "stable condition".

Thames Valley Police yesterday (30/8) launched a witness appeal and is calling on any potential witnesses to come forward.

The offenders are both described as being dressed in black tops with the hoods up and had face coverings.

Investigating officer Detective Constable John Swallow based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “We believe this was an isolated incident but there will be patrols in the area so if you have concerns please feel free to approach an officer.

“If you think you can help or have information which could assist our investigation, please contact the non-emergency number 101 or make a report online using the reference number 43210388564.

“If you would prefer to remain 100% anonymous, please contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
