A public accelerated misconduct hearing will take place in connection with a police officer on Friday.
On 16 August 2025, while rostered for a night shift and unable to take the evening off due to minimum staffing levels, it is alleged that PC Mansell falsely reported sick that afternoon claiming she was unfit for duty due to period pains.
After reporting sick, PC Mansell attended a wedding reception and spent the afternoon and evening socialising and consuming alcohol with colleagues. Due to the late reporting of sickness on a busy Saturday night in Milton Keynes, the shift ran below minimum staffing, impacting colleagues and the level of service provided to the public.
The hearing documents claim: 'Later that evening a photograph of her at the event was posted on social media. PC Mansell contacted a colleague in the early hours of 17 August 2025 asking for the photograph to be removed in an attempt to hide her attendance at the event while she was recorded as sick.
'Following her return to work she has given false explanations to supervisors about her health, her intention to work that evening, her alcohol consumption and the time she left the reception.'
It is alleged that the officer has breached the following Standards of Professional Behaviour:
- Honesty and Integrity
- Authority, Respect and Courtesy
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Discreditable Conduct
If proven, these matters would amount to gross misconduct.
