Police increase patrols for drug users in City Centre following MKFM intervention

Thames Valley Police have said they will be carrying out increased patrols after MKFM reported that a local business was suffering from a number of drug users being active behind their premises.

The business, which does not want to be named, say they contacted Police multiple times but they have 'never seen anything happen to combat the problem'.

Multiple CCTV images show at least three men using the rear of the building to take drugs, with the business owner claiming they were injected.

Following an intervention by MKFM, Inspector Lee Brace, of Milton Keynes North Neighbourhood policing team, said: “We are committed to tackling drug dealing within Milton Keynes, and we will not tolerate individuals seeking to deal drugs within the LPA.”

“As a result of the current issues that have been raised to us at [area removed], we are looking at this issue and we have made contact with the business concerned to investigate and prevent any further criminal activity."

“We are currently reviewing the information provided to us by the business for further investigation, and as a result will be carrying out increased patrols in the area to tackle this issue."

“We would ask anyone to please report any incidents of drug dealing or drug use by calling our Police Enquiry Centre on 101.”

An MKFM listener poll revealed this week that only 50% of participants would report people trading small amounts of drugs to the Police.
