Police appeal for witnesses after suspected arson attack on village schools near Milton Keynes

    Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an incident of suspected arson in Tingewick.

    Officers were called at around 9pm Sunday (26/9) to reports of a fire at Roundwood Primary School and Tingewick Pre-School in Main Street, Tingewick.

    One appliance and crew from Buckingham, one from Northamptonshire, one from Bicester and one from Deddington attended, along with three officers.

    The firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation.

    Significant damage was caused to both schools. No one was injured.

    Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Simon Mountain, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “The investigation into this incident is still in its early stages. We are appealing to any witnesses to this, or anyone who may have information about what happened, to please come forward.

    “Anyone with information can contact Thames Valley Police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210434944.

    “There will also be an increased police presence in the local area as we carry out our investigation.”

    Fire investigation officers are currently supporting Thames Valley Police in the investigation of this incident.
