A Milton Keynes plumbing and heating business has launched a new initiative to support older residents.
A plumbing and heating company in Milton Keynes has launched a weekly scheme to allow older residents access to free boiler servicing.
Bishop Plumbing & Heating Ltd was founded in 2009 by Paul Bishop and has since developed into a team of experienced and skilled plumbing and heating technicians, helping to support a growing customer base.
With over 30 years of experience within the plumbing and heating industry, Bishop Plumbing & Heating says its main priority is to ensure every service is completed to the 'highest standards'.
Bishop Plumbing & Heating has now announced a new initiative in a bid to help older residents receive a free boiler service.
'Golden Tuesdays' will see the local company gift a free boiler service to someone over the age of 70 each week, all residents have to do is apply.
Paul Bishop, Director at Bishop Plumbing & Heating told MKFM that he 'takes pride' in making sure the company looks after the older generation with a fair, transparent, and reliable service.
"I would want to look after them in the same way I would want my grandparents looked after should they be in need of a tradesman," he said.
Paul told MKFM the idea for Golden Tuesdays came to him after he attended a property following a request from a new boiler.
"When I arrived the gentleman at the door that greeted me was an elder. At first glance of the boiler, I asked the gent why he would possibly need a new boiler as the one on the wall was only a few years old. His boiler had stopped working and so he called out an engineer who turned it off and told him that he needed a new one, then left him with no heating and hot water and a £3k cost," the director explained.
He later discovered that the part needed was less than £100.
Due to safeguarding and vulnerability, the company says it will not be canvassing or searching for clients, but relying on referrals.
