Plans submitted for demolition of Stony Stratford gasworks on high street

A planning application has been submitted to Milton Keynes Council for the demolition of a former gasworks in Stony Stratford High Street.

The proposed demolition of the property will make way for new housing on the high street.

However, issues raised in the plans include potential flooding by the Great Ouse, drainage and available parking.

Other parts of the plans will be of interest to surroundings areas to Stony Stratford, with the building situated on the north end of the High Street.

There are no current plans to try and restore the historic gasworks buildings, nor any to increase the green space which makes a difference when floods occur in the town.

You can view the full application by clicking here.

Residents have until the 2nd of March to submit their views and opinions, and can send an email to christopher.walton@miltonkeynes.gov.uk
