PJ Care awarded Platinum Investors in People!

Specialist neurological care provider, PJ Care are delighted to have been awarded platinum status in their recent Investor in People assessment.

This achievement sees PJ Care considered to be in the top 0.5% of companies across the UK and the only specialist neurological care provider to be categorised platinum.

This has been fifteen years in the making as the company has grown from one specialist unit to a leading UK provider of neurological care through seven specialist units across the midlands. In this time, the company’s workforce has grown from 42 to currently 568 employees.

Reaching the pinnacle of achievement in what is regarded the benchmark of investment, compassion and welfare of employees is the reward for a continued process of re-evaluation, investment, training and recognition for their staff. PJ Care have and continue to strive to ensure their staff are as happy, professional, compassionate, caring and well trained as is possible and they refuse rest on their laurels.

A delighted Neil Russell, Executive Chair of PJ Care commented: “This is a truly fantastic achievement for the whole team at PJ Care. The feedback through the anonymous online survey demonstrated to us that our staff really enjoy working here and feel we communicate well with them, they have taken ownership of our core values; Compassion, Commitment and Care and they are applying them in everything they do.” Neil continued: “This truly is a team effort with every single member of the team from or maintenance teams, our housekeeping and kitchen teams through the professional service teams and the fabulous carers of all levels we have in our units, all playing their part in the continued and future success of the company. For us, profit and recognition are a consequence of caring for our residents as best as is humanly possible and we simply couldn’t achieve that without investing in and empowering our staff.”

Neil closed by adding “this truly is fantastic, however, we weren’t perfect and never will be so we will continue to look at different ways of doing things and improving. In fact, we have already had two review meetings to take on board everything which was said and to find ways to improve further.

"Neil’s comments were echoed by Pauline Hellier-Symons, IIP Specialist and the PJ Care assessor, who said "I have worked with PJ Care for several years, and I am very pleased indeed, but not at all surprised that they have just achieved the Platinum Investors in People award, the highest level that there is.

I am so impressed by the staff's wholehearted commitment to PJ Care as a company, to its aims and objectives, to the needs of the residents and their families, to exploring new research on residents' conditions, putting it into practice and by the way they instinctively live the values in their everyday work.

Training and support of staff are excellent; and there are plenty of opportunities for career progression.  It has been quite obvious to me that PJ Care is a company that cares for individuals, staff and residents alike.  It is a very happy company and I have enjoyed working with them." PJ Care continue to grow, with expansion of their Blue Birds Care Centre under way and two new proposed centres in design.
