Pedal Power at Milton Keynes Hospital

Staff at Milton Keynes Hospital have been getting wheelie excited as they prepare for the ride of their lives!

A daring team of 18 staff and fellow supporters from the local community will be taking to their bicycles this month as they gear themselves up to complete the London to Brighton Cycle in aid of Milton Keynes Hospital Charity.

In preparation for the big day, those taking part have been joined by fellow colleagues, and will complete the race in the main entrance of the hospital – completing all 54 miles on a static bike!

Kayleigh Allen, Occupational Therapist at Milton Keynes University Hospital said: “It feels great to do something rewarding and give back to the hospital. It is amazing to see co-workers from other wards and departments come together – hopefully this will cause a chain reaction and encourage others to take part”.

Jenny Howells, senior community and events fundraiser at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity said: “It has been great fun to organise this spoketacular event at the hospital today. I am delighted with the efforts our cycle team have gone to and ultimately, money raised will help make a difference to patients at the hospital, their families, and the staff who treat them.”
