The Parks Trust has launched a witness appeal after a staff member was assaulted by a dog walker in Campbell Park.

The local charity has said that one of their Park Rangers was assaulted on 26th February at around 8:25am, a time when many people could have been out for their pre-work exercise.

They say that the member of staff was assaulted by a man, around 6ft with short dark hair, that had a speckled German Pointer.

The dog was off the lead and chasing the grazing sheep in the park.

This incident has been reported to Thames Valley Police and any witnesses are being urged to come forward to assist with the investigation.

A spokesperson for The Parks Trust said: "We are saddened that one of our Ranger team was assaulted whilst on duty in Campbell Park on Friday 26 February. We are appealing to any witnesses that saw this incident to report this to the police."

Anyone who has information about the assault should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting the URN 368 of 26022021.
