Members of the public are being asked to give their opinion on the new proposals for some Newport Pagnell roads.
Milton Keynes Council is planning on introducing multiple parking restrictions along various roads in the Newport Pagnell area.
On their official website, the council posted: “We’ve been asked to look at how we can improve road safety on Tickford Street between Priory Street and Vantage Court.
“Concerns about road safety and speeding vehicles have been raised with us by the ward councillors, Newport Pagnell Town Council and in petitions by residents. One petition raised concerns around speeding and the other mainly from Salmon Yard residents raised concerns about visibility at the junction with Salmon Yard/ Tickford Street.
“The main safety issues come from vehicles parking on the verges and footways which obstructs pedestrians and cyclists and limits visibility for all road users.
“The proposed restrictions will help alleviate obstruction, improve visibility and allow the free passage for emergency service vehicles and buses and encourage a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.”
Milton Keynes Council is now formally consulting on the following proposed restrictions:

No waiting at any time restrictions (double yellow lines) along sections of the Tickford Street, Severn Drive and Chartwell Road.

No stopping except for buses along sections of Tickford Street.

Introduction of footway and carriageway parking places along sections of Tickford Street.

2x disabled persons’ parking places in Chartwell Road.
Any objections to the proposals must be sent the council by 5pm on Thursday 18th February 2021. Comments sent after this date will not be considered.
