A bench at Ousebank Gardens in Newport Pagnell has been burnt in multiple places following the use of barbeques by members of the public at the weekend.

It appears that three barbeques were placed on the park bench over the Bank Holiday weekend and they have now left lasting damage.

The photograph of the burnt bench has caused outrage amongst local Newport Pagnell residents, who say that it represents a lack of care for the town facilities.

Commenting on Facebook, local resident Lynda Smith said "Some people have no pride in our lovely little town. Shame on them."

Other residents commented that a group of adults had been seen with the barbeques over the weekend and had also left rubbish in the surrounding area.

The incident has been reported to Milton Keynes Council.
