One Milton Keynes GP surgery has vaccinated nearly 7,000 people against COVID-19

A local GP surgery has announced that its team has vaccinated nearly 7,000 people against COVID-19.

The vaccination rollout is well underway, with it being announced last week that over 95% of over 65s in Milton Keynes have had at least one dose.

This number is expected to rise even more, with the latest local vaccination data be announced later on today (11/3).

Whitehouse Surgery is amongst the doctor's surgeries and pharmacies across Milton Keynes administering the vaccine to eligible residents.

And they have announced that the team has administered 6,500 vaccinations on-site and nearly 350 inoculations to local care home residents and patients unable to leave the house.

They are now on target to administer 8,500 vaccinations by the end of March.

Maxine Roberts, Business Manager at Whitehouse Surgery, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of our team, or more impressed by the community spirit that the local residents have shown.

“The positive patient feedback for our vaccination clinics was overwhelming, and we had praise ranging from the marshalling of the car park to the almost non-existent queue for the vaccine itself, as we often ran 15 minutes ahead of appointment times. We were blown over by the response to the call for volunteers and are privileged to be part of such a wonderful community.”

The GP surgery, which is part of OneMedical Group, first opened its doors in December 2020.

Over 2,000 patients have registered to be part of the surgery in just nine weeks, and the surgery hopes this will expand to 7,500 by October.
