One coronavirus-related death recorded in Milton Keynes over the weekend

Data from Public Health England shows that there was one coronavirus-related death in Milton Keynes over the weekend.

Sunday's data shows that one person sadly died within 28 days of receiving a positive coronavirus test result.

This takes the total number of deaths to 110 locally since the start of the pandemic.

The circumstances surrounding the death, including age and whether they had underlying health conditions, have not been revealed.

This news comes as the number of cases recorded in Milton Keynes continues to rise steadily, without any major spikes, after 45 people tested positive on Sunday (8/11).

And Milton Keynes Council has today (9/11) announced that the latest infection rate for the city is 124 per 100,000 people.

2,470 people have had a positive coronavirus test result since March.

MKFM previously stopped reporting on coronavirus cases due to the lack of testing, and possible misrepresentation of cases within the community, but now that there are more tests available we have decided to provide frequent updates.

We provide the data given to us by Public Health England, and unfortunately this does not cover the number of people who have recovered/left hospital.

Monday's case data for Milton Keynes will be released later on today and you can view it here.
