Seniors in Milton Keynes now have access to a brand-new specialist day care service following the launch of a partnership between Elizabeth Gardens Care Home and Bloom Care Solutions.
The launch addresses the growing need for accessible, high-quality day care in the area, offering families the vital respite and senior individuals a chance to socialise and enjoy meaningful activities in a professional care setting.
Newloy opened Elizabeth Gardens Care Home, part of Porthaven Care Homes, is providing its communal space in Great Holm free of charge to host the weekly service, creating a welcoming environment where senior individuals from across Milton Keynes can access specialist care.
The partnership brings together Porthaven’s outstanding facilities in Great Holm with Bloom Care Solutions’ expertise in person-centred day care for older adults.
The service, running every Tuesday between 10am and 4pm, offers tailored morning and afternoon activities, a complimentary lunch and professional support from Bloom’s fully trained staff.
With group sizes limited to 12 guests, the service can accommodate complex care needs including dementia care, mobility support, continence care and medication administration, whilst maintaining a calm, supportive atmosphere.
The new service was officially launched at a celebration event last month, which was attended by Mark Johnson, from Milton Keynes Dons Community Trust.
“The opening first day of our new venture into day care was a great success, allowing local residents to meet new friends over lunch in the beautiful surroundings of Elizabeth Gardens,” said Linda Simpson, home manager at Elizabeth Gardens, “This is a great step towards ending loneliness in the community whilst showcasing Porthaven’s newest care home in Milton Keynes. Feedback from the visitors was very positive, and they are already looking forward to coming back.”
Elizabeth Gardens provides 24-hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. The home features spacious, elegantly designed communal areas and incorporates thoughtful features that support residents’ changing needs.
