New retro gaming arcade opens in Milton Keynes

The latest attraction in Milton Keynes, The Pixel Bunker, hosted its grand opening yesterday (04/06) - offering local gamers an exciting retro experience.

The Pixel Bunker has opened as part of the eagerly anticipated National Film & Sci-Fi Museum development within Lloyd's Court – the cities first office block. The museum has partnered with Replay Events who have many years of experience delivering retro gaming events through the “PLAY Expo” gaming shows.

From After Burner to Wonder Boy, this place has it all – suitable for visitors of all generations, Pixel Bunker offers a wide array of classic, vintage and retro arcade games. Older guests will have playful memories come flooding back, whilst younger visitors will be able to create new memories within this inter-generational attraction.

With up to 3 timed sessions each day, visitors can play as many of the arcade games as they like within their allocated session. All of the machines are set to Freeplay, so there is no need to pump them full of coins – just jump on and jiggle those joysticks.

Explaining more about the venue, Andy Brown, the Director of Replay Events, said: "The Pixel Bunker offers up to 100 cabs at any given time - with regular changes of games within the Arcade to keep the whole experience exciting and fresh for visitors."

Along with the games themselves, the whole area is awash with retro and nostalgic memorabilia. From 80s bikes to ghetto blasters as well as video games props and retro-tech from a classic era. The whole scene is set for a nostalgic gaming journey into the past.

The National Film & Sci-Fi Museum is dedicated to the preservation, restoration and exhibition of the art, skills and dedication that goes into delivering some of the world’s most successful films and TV shows. The Pixel Bunker is just the first section of this development to open, with the museum set to open later this Summer.
