New photos show extent of rubbish dumping and cable burning by travellers in Milton Keynes

Residents of Tattenhoe and the surrounding areas are calling for more to be done about travellers dumping rubbish and starting fires, as pictures show the full extent of the issue in the area.

The photos, which were taken by a resident who was taking a walk through the park near the Bottledump Roundabout in Milton Keynes, show hundreds of copper wires which have been burned as well as general rubbish dumped.

Bucks Fire and Rescue were called to a fire in the open near Buckingham Road on Friday night at around 9.55pm, with one appliance and crew from Bletchley attending. Firefighters used one hose reel to put out the blaze.

MKFM has been keeping up the pressure on local organisations including Milton Keynes Council, Thames Valley Police and the local MPs.

Although we have received notably less calls from members of the public than we did at the height of the situation last month, residents of Tattenhoe and the surrounding areas are still expressing concerns about the situation.
