New Local Policing Area Commander appointed for Milton Keynes

Supt Yvette Hitch takes over the role, replacing Supt Vince Grey who will move to his previous role as the LPA Commander role at Chiltern & South Buckinghamshire.

Supt Hitch was appointed to the role following a senior appointment board. The boards are held regularly to determine postings for senior officers within the force.

Supt Hitch has been a police officer for almost 30 years, having joined Thames Valley Police as a police sergeant in 1997, moving from Staffordshire Police where her policing career began. Prior to her move to Chiltern and South Bucks in 2015, Supt Hitch was the Deputy LPA Commander for Oxford City.

Supt Hitch said: “I am delighted to be the appointed as the Commander of Milton Keynes. I care passionately about Milton Keynes and I am looking forward to working with local partners to reduce crime and disorder and ensuring that MK is a safe place to live and work.”

Supt Vince Gray was appointed in February following the suspension of Superintendent Gez Chiariello, Mr Chiariello remains suspended and is awaiting a misconduct hearing in October.
