Local charity, Willen Hospice are delighted to have MyMiltonKeynes as their headline sponsor for their popular Mini-Moo, a fun event for young fundraisers.
This family-favourite takes place on Sunday 7th August at Willen Lake North, starting from 10.30am. Children aged 3 – 11 are invited to scoot, run or walk one or two sponsored laps of Willen Lake North, and every child who takes part gets an exclusive Mini Moo pack, cap, medal and certificate. There will also be extra surprises on the day, including a tombola, music and Willen Hospice’s very own mascot, Florence Moo will be making an appearance too!
Nikki Poole, Willen Hospice Community Fundraising Manager, said: “We are really excited to be holding our Mini-Moo event once again. Many children in our community have had family members cared for by the Hospice, and events like the Mini Moo are a great way for children to learn about social responsibility and how their actions can help make a real difference to the lives of others.
“This year the Mini Moo is taking place over the summer holidays, so we hope lots of families will be able to join us and show their support for the Hospice. We are incredibly grateful to MyMiltonKeynes for kindly sponsoring this event, we simply could not hold it without them.”

Entry is £10pp and includes a Mini Moo pack, cap, certificate and medal. Participants are also encouraged to go the extra mile by raising at least £50 through sponsorship.
The money raised from this event could help fund the charity’s dedicated children and families services. This includes one-on-one time with the Hospice’s own Children & Families social worker, supporting children through pre and post bereavement, as well as advising parents, guardians and schools on how best to support them. The charity also recently opened its new Wellbeing Hub near the Hospice site on Willen Lake, which includes a welcoming space for children to process their grief through play and reading, and a new art therapy space for children to communicate and understand their emotions through creativity.
All of this is provided free of charge to children who have had a family member cared, or being cared for, by the Hospice.
