MyMiltonKeynes Ambassadors help CMK stay safe and sparkling

The Business Improvement District (BID) for Milton Keynes has appointed new ambassadors to step up its ongoing work to create a safer, cleaner, better connected, smarter and more vibrant city centre for all.

Interacting with the business community and visitors, MyMiltonKeynes Ambassadors will deliver an enhanced level of awareness of the BID and its five main strategic themes, while providing a warm and knowledgeable point of contact to all those visiting CMK.

Ambassadors have undertaken an intensive induction process, including first aid, diversity and inclusion training and a police presentation, which highlighted their role and responsibilities.

Working in partnership with the BID’s police officers and landscaping team, the ambassadors will report anything of concern within the BID area, including health and safety related issues, anti-social behaviour and any concerns relating to homelessness in the city.

The team will also focus on regularly engaging with levy payers to ensure any enquiries that businesses have are referred to the relevant individual or organisation and are appropriately actioned.

Melanie Beck MBE, Chief Executive of MyMiltonKeynes explains: “We are really excited to welcome our new MyMiltonKeynes Ambassadors, who represent an important step forward in enhancing the great work that has already been achieved by the BID.”

Commenting on the role of the BID, Peter Marland, Leader of Milton Keynes Council said: “Making sure our city centre is a great place is hugely important. A clean, safe and well-maintained city centre is vital for inward investment, supporting existing businesses and attracting visitors. The work the BID does is vital to the continued success of CMK.”
