My Chemical Romance postpone Milton Keynes tour dates until next year

It has been today (27/4) announced that My Chemical Romance will be coming to Stadium MK in June 2021.

The British leg of the worldwide tour was set to take place in June 2020, with the band performing in Milton Keynes on 18th, 20th, and 21st June.

However, due to the ongoing global pandemic, the band has decided to postpone the three Milton Keynes dates to 17th, 19th, and 20th June 2021.

    Tickets for:

Thursday 18th June 2020 are now valid for Thursday 17th June 2021

Saturday 20th June 2020 are now valid for Saturday 19th June 2021

Sunday 21st June 2020 are now valid for Sunday 20th June 2021

Should you have already received tickets for the 2020 date, these will be invalidated, and the barcode cancelled. Reserved ticket seat details remain the same and unreserved will remain unreserved.

If you are unable to attend the new date, please contact your ticket agent to arrange a refund.

A spokesperson on behalf of the band said: "Due to the current Coronavirus Pandemic My Chemical Romance have had to make the hard decision to postpone their UK dates to 2021. We have not taken this decision lightly and have to put the health of fans and families first. We hope you understand and we will be back bigger than ever.

"The new dates are Thu 17th, Sat 19th and Sun 20th June 2021 at Stadium MK. Your Tickets will remain valid for the days of the week you purchased your tickets for. Refunds are available from point of purchase. Thanks for your understanding MCR.”

The event is part of a worldwide tour which includes two performances in Australia, two in Japan, one in New Zealand, one in Germany, one in Dublin, one in Italy and three in Milton Keynes.

Pete Winkelman, owner of Stadium MK, said: "Ever since the football was cancelled obviously the shows have been under pressure, in the summer. And, I'm really pleased [that] all three nights [will go ahead], even the hotel bookings that people don't want to change and can still stay there. It really is just blink your eyes and it all moves twelve months, but it is really sensible.

"In any world, I am expecting that by next summer we will be able to host concerts again. [I am] really looking forward to that and so glad that they've been able to resolve [it] and make sure that My Chemical Romance is in the UK, in MK next year."

Details of supporting acts for the Stadium MK gigs are yet to be announced, but Jimmy Eat World will be supporting the band for their New Zealand and Japan tour dates.

It was announced in January 2020 that My Chemical Romance would be performing in Milton Keynes. The band initially planned to do one gig, but due to phenomenal demand, an extra two dates were added.
