Multiple households have had their scheduled waste collection missed today (23/08) throughout some areas of Milton Keynes.
Milton Keynes Council has only just resumed bin collections after previously suspending them due to low staffing levels.
In a short statement released earlier today, a spokesperson for the Council said: "We apologise for delays to the food and garden waste service, we're currently working one day behind."
The areas missed are as follows:
-
Oakridge Park
-
Stantonbury
-
Great Linford
-
Downhead Park
-
Bolbeck Park
-
Willen Park
-
Willen
-
Newport Pagnell
-
Blakelands
-
Olney
-
Emberton
-
Lavendon
Olney Ward Councillor Keith Mclean took to social media to share a message from Milton Keynes Council's Environment and Waste Management Team.
More information was offered about the current situation as they said: "Due to the high volumes of food and garden waste and large numbers of bins presented, the crews will not complete food and garden waste collections today.
"The following areas have been impacted by the waste collection delays and we ask that those residents affected to ensure their bins are presented by 7:00am on Tuesday 24th August June 2021 as we have resources in place to collect.
"In anticipation of the high volumes of waste in managing the backlog, additional resource has been put in place for the weekend to clear all outstanding collections from this week following the restart of the food and garden waste (green bin) service."
