MP visits Milton Keynes company aiming to tackle EV range anxiety

Samad Power, located in Kiln Farm, recently welcomed Iain Stewart, the Member of Parliament for Milton Keynes South, to their facility to showcase the work they are doing to tackle electric vehicle range anxiety.

With the UK Government banning the sale of petrol/diesel vehicles from 2035, electric vehicle ownership is expected increase in the coming years and so more ECV users will be travelling longer distances.

However, electric vehicles have a maximum amount of mileage they can achieve before needing to be recharged, potentially causing electric vehicle users to fall short of their destination or a charging point. Samad Power have developed a solution to this problem and addressing the range anxiety that many electric vehicle owners have.

Samad Power have created a portable EV portable charger with the capability of adding 60 miles of range to an electric vehicle within 20 minutes.

Iain Stewart, who is also Chair of the Transport Select Committee in Parliament, visited Samad Power to learn more about the solution they have developed, see it first-hand how it works and discuss how it can be deployed to benefit electric vehicle owners.

Commenting Iain Stewart MP said: “It was great to visit Samad Power at their facility in Milton Keynes and learn about how they are developing a portable electric vehicle charger.

“As we strive to be Net Zero, it is companies like Samad Power who are providing the solutions for future problems.”

A spokesperson for Samad Power commented: “The entire NEXTEN team takes pride in developing sustainable energy solutions to support the adoption of electric vehicles by addressing gaps in the charging infrastructure and thereby reducing range anxiety.

“We are excited to be contributing to the advancement of a sustainable economy and a reduced carbon footprint in our community.”
