MP teams up with local charity to highlight coronavirus impact on children’s mental health

Milton Keynes North MP Ben Everitt has linked with local charity World Vision to highlight the impact of coronavirus on young people’s mental health.

A YouGov poll, commissioned by World Vision, found that a third of school-aged children are lonely. Twenty-six per cent have become more withdrawn, while one in three are now more easily upset.

In an article for The Times newspaper, Ben has called on the Government to look at initiatives to provide quality mental health and psychosocial support to children.

Ben said: “We’re all in this together, all of our lives have been turned upside down by the coronavirus and none more so than children. It’s really important we focus on their mental health, and not just in the short-term.

“I’m proud to have teamed up with our wonderful local charity World Vision to highlight this nationally and will continue to make sure we look after our young people’s mental health."
