A local MP has launched a survey regarding illegal encampments in Milton Keynes.
Earlier this month,a Secondary school in Milton Keynes was forced to close due to an illegal encampment on the field.
Around 30 caravans pitched up on the school site leaving students and staff working from home and missing their organised Sports Day, due to the school site not being 'safe for students or staff'.
After nearly 4 days on the field, officers were forced to remove the unauthorised encampment after the legal order was not complied with. A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said 4 vehicles and 3 caravans were seized and 2 arrests were made during the removal.
In the following days after the removal, there has been several more reports of illegal encampments across Milton Keynes.
Ben Everitt, Conservative MP for Milton Keynes North, has launched a survey for residents saying: "I'm aware of new Traveller encampments in Milton Keynes and have spoken to Thames Valley Police about it over the weekend.
"I'm confident the police feel able to use new powers under the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act if they deem necessary to avoid distribution to people's lives."
The survey, which asks questions regarding illegal encampments and finds out how residents have been affected, can be found here.
