Mlton Keynes Council 'aware of some problems' with new clear sack deliveries

The Leader of Milton Keynes Council has said he is aware of 'some problems' with the new delivery method of clear recycling sacks across the city.

Under new plans introduced last month, residents now have to order new sacks via the Milton Keynes Council website, rather than being able to collect them from local shops and community centres.

But MKFM has heard complaints that the clear sacks are not being delivered on time, with one resident saying two scheduled deliveries to their home were both no-shows, and they are still left with no way of recycling.

Other residents are claiming that they are simply not recycling any more due to the issue, and putting all waste into black refuse sacks.

Cllr Peter Marland, Leader of Milton Keynes Council, said: "“The recycling bag delivery service is new and we are aware of some problems, which we are working with our contractor to fix. It needs to improve."
