MKFM wins 'Most Supportive Company' at MK Inspiration Awards

MKFM has won the 'Most Supportive Company' honour at the Milton Keynes Inspiration Awards, celebrating the most inspirational people and groups from across the city.

The awards ceremony took place at Jury's Inn in Central Milton Keynes on Saturday night, with hundreds of people attending to see awards presented in a variety of categories.

These included special categories for the most inspirational young people and members of the emergency services.

MKFM's award was given in recognition for the support that the radio station has given the new event during its inaugural year.

This included dedicated interviews with a selection of the nominees each week in the run up to the event, which you can Listen Again to here.

MKFM Managing Director Darren Dorrington said "It's a fantastic reward for the hard-working team at MKFM to be presented with this award. Over the last six years, MKFM has supported a number of good causes across Milton Keynes and it's fantastic to be part of an event that supports others doing great work."

It was also a good night for MKFM Arts Correspondent Nancy Stevens, who won the Best Radio Presenter award for her 'Stevens on Sunday' show, broadcast on Sunday nights at 6pm on MKFM.

Nancy Stevens said "I'm absolutely honoured to have been presented with this award, especially when I was up against some very tough competition. It's an absolute delight to share my passion for the arts and theatre locally every week on the radio and I hope to continue to contribute to the local arts scene in our city."
