MK restaurant shortlisted for British Curry Awards

Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar has been shortlisted for this year's British Curry Awards, also known as the 'Curry Oscars' for the Indian restaurant industry.

The newly-opened independent restaurant, in The Hub, announced in September that it had been nominated in the Best Newcomer category.

Judges will now visit the restaurant unannounced and the winner will be revealed at a celebrity-attended event on Monday November 28 held at Battersea Evolution. The awards, in its twelfth year, will be broadcast in more than 200 countries.

"There is no bigger award ceremony in the business and we're absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted," said Mo Abdul, owner and general manager of Maaya. "We work so hard to make every dining experience first class, we have made improvements along the way and will continue to listen to our customers and make them proud of us.

"I would like to thank the team behind me, the staff and the customers for believing in and supporting us."
