League One Clubs have voted, by an overwhelming majority, to formally end the 2019/20 season, the EFL has confirmed.
As a result, the following now applies as agreed earlier on Tuesday by the 71 EFL clubs:
1. Final divisional placings will be determined on unweighted points per game (if required).
2. Promotion and relegation should be retained.
3. Play-Offs will be played in all circumstances but will not be extended (beyond four teams).
MK Dons finish the campaign in 19th place in the Sky Bet League One table with an unweighted points per page total of 46.51, retaining their place in the third tier for the 2020/21 season.
The EFL statement read: "League One Clubs have voted by an overwhelming majority to formally end the 2019/20 season."
"As a result, the final League standings have now been confirmed meaning that Coventry City have been confirmed as Champions with Rotherham United securing the second automatic promotion place to the Championship."
"Wycombe Wanderers, Oxford United, Portsmouth and Fleetwood Town will contest the Sky Bet Play-Offs with the schedule to be announced in due course, while Tranmere Rovers, Southend United and Bolton Wanderers will start the 2020/21 season in League Two."
MK Dons Executive Director Andrew Cullen will be on MKFM tomorrow after 10am to discuss the news and then there will be a special MK Dons Fans Forum from 2pm on MKFM.
