Tonnes of soil delivered for high-tech new playing surface.
These mountains of soil have been delivered to Stadium MK is readiness for the new pitch that’s going down for the start of the 2025-26 football season.
MK Dons’ playing surface is undergoing a complete refurbishment during football’s summer break and will be reconstructed with a high-tech new turf called Hybrid GrassMax.
The playing surface, which is favoured by international soccer giants including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Villareal, is partly artificial fibre and partly real grass. So it will require hundreds of tonnes of soil to be laid down before the pitch itself can be installed.
It’s one of a number of major changes being made at MK Dons’ stadium as the club prepares for a fresh assault in League 2 next season. Earlier this month MKFM News revealed how the team’s famous logo and badging was being removed from the stadium’s outside walls so that new artwork can be installed.
