MK Dons match will mark Armed Forces Day

Players and city dignitaries set to remember those who served.

Tomorrow’s football fixture with Salford City will mark MK Dons’ Armed Forces Day, with everyone at Stadium MK remembering and honouring those who served in wars around the world.

Military vehicles and various stalls on the east side of the Stadium are planned from 12.30pm as the club celebrates the Armed Forces.

A remembrance service will be held ahead of the match, with the Mayor of Milton Keynes, dignitaries and representatives from MK Dons and Salford City all taking part. Players and officials will also line the pitch ready for the service.

The event will include the presentation of wreaths, laid on the pitch, before the bugler plays ‘The Last Post’. Everyone at Stadium MK will then observe two minutes’ silence to honour those who served and remember those we have lost.

To note the end of the silence, the bugler will play ‘Reveille’. There will also be a half-time parade led by the Royal British Legion.
