Milton Keynes Council: Serpentine Court residents to be given final say on regeneration

Residents will get the final say on regeneration plans for Serpentine Court regeneration in a November vote, Milton Keynes Council announced this past Sunday (16th September).

Council Leader Pete Marland said: “Milton Keynes Council wants residents to determine the regeneration proposals in all areas."

"Serpentine Court, on the Lakes estate, will see residents voting in November on proposals to build  new council homes and homes for sale, whilst seeing Serpentine Court demolished.”

The Council is strongly committed to the highest standard of resident engagement and to residents having the final say on the future rebuilding of the Serpentine Court area.

Councillor Nigel Long, Cabinet member for Housing and Regeneration, added: “Having worked in resident engagement for  many years I remain passionate about residents being in control of their homes and surrounding community. The November ballot will give residents the final say on  demolition and renewal.”

Cllr Marland concluded: “I am pleased that we can hold the ballot in November. We will also be restarting engagement work on Fullers Slade in October and then start work in Bradville in early 2019.”
