Mind BLMK receives £1,000 donation to support core services

Davidsons Homes, which is building new homes across the South Midlands, has donated £1,000 to support MIND BLMK over the Christmas period.

Mind BLMK, based at The Rufus Centre in Bedfordshire, is an independent organisation providing services which aid the mental health and wellbeing of people living in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.

The charity offers a number of activities from its local wellbeing centres and venues. Services include crisis support, counselling, mentoring, suicide prevention services and suicide bereavement support.

Hayley Mattacks, Fundraising Manager for Mind BLMK, said: “On behalf of the charity I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Davidsons Homes for its kind support of our work.

“This donation will make a real and direct difference to those who we support in our local communities, and we are truly grateful for their help at this time.”

James Burnham, Managing Director of Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “Although the run up to Christmas is usually a joyous period for many, it can also be an incredibly lonely time for some people – which is why the mental health services provided by Mind BLMK are so crucial.

“As we are building close to Milton Keynes and in Bedfordshire, we wanted to support this much-needed charity and help boost the mental health services it provides for the local community.”

Davidsons Homes is currently building new homes at The Wheatfields development in Hanslope, near Milton Keynes, as well as Woodlands Rest in Meppershall, Bedfordshire.
