Back in October, MKFM reported on the opening of Vatisserie, a new bakery for Milton Keynes, and importantly, the first vegan patisserie in the area.
Now, less than three months after a hugely successful launch, the business has been forced to shut up shop.
The Newport Pagnell-based store - located in Union Street - delivered a range of freshly cooked croissants, cakes, tarts, brownies and cookies, delivered by husband and wife team Mandy and Jas Samra.
"Due to ongoing leaks and the landlord refusing to carry out the necessary repairs, we have no choice but to close," Mandy told MKFM, "It's not the position we want to be in, and it has been hard to accept. We have spent a significant amount of money and now need to start over.
"We're so proud of what we built in such a short time, and grateful to everyone that has supported us. It means so much."
Previously, Mandy ran her bakery business from home, selling at local markets and creating tasty treats for individual customers, and she will now return to her kitchen to service orders, while searching for new premises.
Mandy would love to remain in Newport Pagnell, but is open to moving elsewwhere in the new city if necessary.
"This is not the end," she promises, "We intend to come back, bigger and better."
