The brand new unit is a collaboration between the maternity services and the hospitals Neonatal Unit.
This week, Milton Keynes University Hospital opened their brand new Neonatal Transitional Care Unit as part of their continued work to improve patient safety and experience across the Trust.
The Neonatal Transitional Care Unit's aim is to keep new mothers and their babies together if the newborn is to need additional care.
The collaboration of the two units enables newborns and their mothers to get the care and treatment they need from a specially trained team without having to be separated from eachother.
The new unit can be accessed through Ward 10 with its own dedicated team and reception desk.
