Milton Keynes theme park's family fun run raises funds for Willen Hospice

A family fun run at Gulliver’s Land has raised £895 for Willen Hospice.

The charity event, which saw more than 200 people take part, was organised by the Milton Keynes theme park to raise money for the local charity.

Participants could run, walk or toddle the route, which weaved through the resorts’ thrilling rides and attractions.

From every £15 entry (which included theme park admission), £5 was donated to Willen Hospice, which provides free, palliative care to approximately 300 patients on its In-Patient Unit each year.

A further 700 patients are cared for in the community by the Willen at Home team.

Sue Conway, resort manager at Gulliver’s Land, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people join us for this year’s fun run, in aid of Willen Hospice.

“We have a longstanding fundraising partnership with the hospice and regularly support the vital work the team there do for the local community. We’d like to thank everyone who came out to take part in the event and helped raise money for such an important cause.”

Nikki Poole, community fundraising manager at Willen Hospice, said: “The amount raised by the fun runners at Gulliver’s Land is fantastic, and we’re so grateful.

“It takes more than £4million a year to keep offering our free services, and we are reliant on donations. So, events such as this play a vital part in supporting the work we do for people and their loved ones in Milton Keynes.”
