Milton Keynes teenager to publish e-book telling stories of young people during the pandemic

A local teenager is working to publish an e-book telling the stories of young people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grace Spicer, age 19, is doing this by working with the youth engagement organisation 'I have a voice'.

She wishes to document how young people have coped with the pandemic, whilst also using their voices to raise awareness on topics such as Black Lives Matter.

The digital book, called Generation COVID, will also include stories from other young people, from the ages of 16 to 25, about their experiences.

By compiling this book Grace hopes to raise money for three youth organisations doing vital work to support young people at this difficult time - I have a voice, Aspects Trust and UK Youth. She is also crowdfunding towards the publication of the book.

The Aspects Trust in Milton Keynes is a youth club that supports young people on the autism spectrum.

Norman Cummings, from the Aspects Trust, said: "Aspects are extremely grateful for the generous opportunity of donations from the book Grace Spicer has written. In the current climate, with the COVID-19 situation, it is very difficult to obtain funding. So, the generous offer of financial support would be saved until members of Aspects are reunited and we can all celebrate that moment together as one again, and build new plans for all going forward."

Anyone between the age of 16 to 25 who wishes to share their story, poetry, or pieces of art detailing the pandemic can do so by clicking here. Contributions for submitting a story will close on 22nd Feb.
