Milton Keynes supermarket blighted by break-ins re-opens

The Co-op store in Great Linford has been the target of another break-in.

It is the latest blow for the shop, and follows an incident in May when the security shutters were dismantled and windows smashed to gain entry.

Frustrated residents took to social media to air their thoughts yesterday, with one saying, ‘They only just finished fixing the shutters last week from the last break in.’

The supermarket, on St Leger Court, has been blighted by incidents of shoplifting and break ins.

‘I feel sorry for the poor staff who are clearly run off their feet anyway without having to contend with this,’ wrote another.

A Co-op spokesperson told MKFM: “Our Great Linford store reopened yesterday afternoon following a break-in at the very early hours of the morning. We urge anyone who may have any information to come forward to police, who are investigating.”
