Students across Milton Keynes have today received their A-Level results.

Oakgrove School are celebrating some big achievements, including a record four students starting medical degrees this September.

The determination of students to achieve their academic and personal ambitions has resulted in strong results in Maths, Further Maths, Geography and Sociology.

Amongst many outstanding achievements, a record four students will start their medicine degrees in September, one student will be studying Physics with Theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Nottingham and another three will take mathematics at the Russell Group Universities, Nottingham, Warwick and Bath.

Apprenticeships at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Santander and the Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are just some of the exciting destinations for others.

Congratulating Oakgrove’s Sixth Form students, Headteacher Ian Tett said: “I am extremely proud of Oakgrove’s students and staff, who have once again proved that hard work and aspiration leads to success. This cohort in particular deserves praise, they have shown immense tenacity with the disruption to their studies and being unable to experience sitting GCSE examinations, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

“We look forward to assisting our students as they progress onto their next destinations and are so grateful to have had the support of their parents and carers.”

This summer's examination results affirm the achievements of Oakgrove’s post 16 provision, which is set for a further boost with a million pound capital expansion, following a successful application to the Department for Education.

Hazeley Academy are congratulating their students on not only gaining 'excellent results' but for their growth through contribution.

'The Year 13 class of 2023 faced many additional challenges in preparation for their BTecs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications. From the disruption to their learning in the lower years, to their GCSEs being cancelled due to the covid pandemic,' a spokesperson said.

'Our Hazeley community knows that it is how we react to the challenge that defines us, and the class of 2023 responded with the Hazeley 5Cs of character, confidence, creativity, contributing and community incredibly well.

'This exceptional group of young people not only gained excellent results, but they also grew through contributing, organising Hazeley’s remarkable Culture Day, as well as a record number of them growing through taking part in school and community volunteering. Few will forget the Hazeley’s Year 13 prom in July!

'An important factor in many of these successes is being part of the 5 Dimensions Trust, working with one of our partner schools, Shenley Brook End School, raising expectations, sharing best practice and supporting each other.'
