Members of The Collaboration Choir Milton Keynes will be performing at The National Arboretum later this month, in aid of The Donor Family Network.
The choir is part of a national initiative, a collective of adult pop choirs, which has this year raised £20,000 for Cruse Benefit Support, 'and to encourage more open conversations about grief.'
In all, 600 men and women from across The Collaboration Choir collective came together to sing their own arrangement of Faith Hill’s ‘There You’ll Be’.
The singers were recorded and filmed, resulting in a celebratory tribute to those who have been loved and lost. Singers were invited to bring a photograph of a loved one, which were captured as drawings on the day by storyboard artist Seb Antoniou.
Viv Powell from Milton Keynes who lost her sister Lisa was one of those who had her photo drawn as part of the accompanying music video project.
The choir will deliver two public performances at The Arboretum in Staffordshire, before performing at a private service to sing for donor families.
“They asked us to come and perform at their annual service to pay tribute to all the donor families who go on to help others after the loss of a loved one. A few of our Collaboration Choir members are also donor families so it felt like a poignant way to round off the project,” said choir founder Carrie Rawlings.
