Milton Keynes school thanked for food bank effort

Cereal topple helps charity’s breakfast collection.

Staff and pupils at a Milton Keynes school were praised by a food charity today after arranging a domino-style topple using more than 450 donated boxes of cereal.

Oxley Park Academy were thanked by Milton Keynes Food Bank and presented with a framed certificate, after collecting 465 boxes and setting them off on the giant topple.

Pupils and school leadership team members Noel Springett-McHugh and Deb Frayne-Johnson were joined by Laurel King from Synergy Recruitment, who helped organise their incredible Great Cereal Topple.

“Thanks to the generosity of the children, staff, carers and parents, thousands of breakfasts are now on their way to families in need, lovingly packed and delivered by our amazing volunteers,” said Poppy Cheetham, fundraising and communications coordinator, Milton Keynes Food Bank.

We're so close to our goal of 10,000 boxes – matching the number of children we supported last year – so we’re extending the Topple.”
